How do u use the webcam on a compaq laptop?
Hi I really need help. i tried using tiny chat and skype . my laptop has a built in webcam . but when ever i go in to a chating website it dosent work can u you help me ? Is there a botton i need to click ? (its a compac presario laptop )

If it's not firing up automatically the driver may need to be updated.

Most likely the reason it isn't working is that the drivers that tell the computer how to use the webcam are either not installed, installed incorrectly, or are now broken, I would recommend checking the Compac website for drivers and installing them. If that doesn't fix the issue than it's probably a setting in Skype or your chat program, you can find more information on how to change those setting from the website of the chat you are using.

Why does my compaq laptop shut off after a few minutes?
I have changed the sleep setting to 45 minutes. It shuts off like it is hibernating, but when I move the mouse to turn it back on it doesn't do anything. I have to push the power button and it says that windows is resuming. I am using windows vista.

Compaq laptop screen icons and picture getting larger with every turn on of computer?
Everytime laptop is turned on...everything is getting bigger and bigger....can hardly even read e-mail now!

An easy fix, while holding down Ctrl key, press the - key. If this gets too small, then opposite, Ctrl and +. But because your screen icons are larger also, you may need to reset the display resolution. On XP this is Start>Control Panel>Display>Settings There you'll find a slider bar to move... the larger the # (Like 1024x768) the more will fit on the screen. It's good to remember how to reset... it may continue to change itself occasionally.
