How do i reset my compaq laptop?
My laptop is running really slow and i just want to know if resetting the whole thing would help and how to do it

Yeah, it will. If it's slow also try uninstalling some programs you don't need from Control Panel. That always helps. If it's a problem like an everyday problem spending a few hundred dollars wouldn't hurt.

Considering 95% of the time a slow computer problem is created, it's by the user who hasn't a clue how to properly use and maintain it, it will surely run faster until they infect the crap out of it again and load all the BS they think they need running in the background. As for your question, since you didn't have sense enough to give us the model number, read the manual.

You can delete unused programs Delete any files you dont need. Defrag your HDD System restore Extreme mode: boot into your recovery partition(if you have one, or Operationg system CD) and re-install windows

How can i restore my compaq laptop back to its factory settings?
how can i restore my compaq laptop back to its factory settings?
my laptop has so much stuff going wrong with it. i don't have much music or pictures, so losing those won't be a problem. i've had my computer erased before, i just need to know how to do it again. i don't have any CD's or recovery disks or anything. just need help. thanks!

The best and cheapest way is to use a set of recovery disc made for the lap top, you can order a set from http://www.compaq.com/cpq-country/cpq_support.html by the model and serial number to install a new original operating system and use the original key code on the sticker on bottom of your lap top. Then you will not have to pay a repair center to do it for you for a $100.00 or more. If it is a newer lap top running Vista or Windows 7 you can use the built in system recovery, try holding down the Fn key while pressing F10, F11 or F12 at start up. This varies with makes and models to enter recovery partition. Check the user guide for your lap top.

How come my laptop, Compaq Armada m700, won't start up?
How come my laptop, Compaq Armada m700, won't start up?
My Laptop turns on, but once it gets to the Windows XP loading screen, it restarts and goes back to the Compaq screen. And it repeats. This all started wehn i was about to shut it down by goin to the start menu, but it took too long so i shut it down by using the power button and the blue one. i cant even open up safe mode!

boot it in safe mode using F8 and then check disk for errors. (i.e. right click on C drive > tool and do it from there)

Don't Ever Press The Shutdown Power Button Just Wait The Laptop To Shutdown

Your computer either has a Virus or the boot files are trashed. You will likely have to do a Windows repair install at the second prompt or reinstall Windows fresh to repair it. Make sure you get all updates and patches from Windows update and install a good Anti-Virus after. You might have to download all the device drivers from HP/Compaq for your model of computer.
