How can i install Windows xp on Compaq laptop?
I have a Compaq C700 Laptop with Windows Vista Ultimate and when i run the setup file for Xp it runs and finally displays the message that" No hard disks detected.Setup will not continue" Can anybody help me please?

Your hard drive is formatted the wrong way. I don't know which but, your hard drive needs to be NTFS or FAT. I would use the fdisk tool to format your hd.

It sounds like you might need to make a partition before attempting to install XP. There must be hundreds of web sites offering tips on how to do this.

Hi, I guess this is an issue with SATA Hard disk on your computer,Unfortunately XP cant detect the Hard disk and wont install the drivers automatically from the OS.You need to install SATA drivers from a Floppy drive and then proceed with XP installation,which i guess is tough as you maynot have a floppy driver.Maybe better you give back the product and get a replacement or check with HP if they got any other suggestions.
