How do I setup a wireless internet connection between my home computer and my Compaq Laptop?
They are both Windows XP and I really want to go onto the internet on my laptop. Please tell me how to create a connection.

well first if it is dial up forget it because it not compatiable with most wireless. but i suggest a belkin wireless router and a external wireless card unless wireless is built in, but if u need a external make sure they are the same brand and the router should have disk to set up a wireless internet connection and the card should fit in though the slot on the side of most laptops and come with a set up disk so ur computer and recieve the wirless connection

My Compaq laptop screen is black but the computer is running what can be the problem?
My laptop was shutdown and when I turned it back on a few weeks later my screen is black, I can hear the machine running and I have lights on my power switch that are lit. What can be the possible problem.

The same thing happened to me. Your computer hs a virus or it can mean your computer is very old.And this is true because my dad knows a lot about computers.

I wouldn't say its a virus for sure, but it could possibly be. It could also be damage done to the operating system. I would suggest you back up the files on the hard drive and then reformat your hard drive. You can access the files on the hard drive with a device known as an IDE/SATA to USB Adapter (google 'BT-300 topmicrousa"). This device works very well since it skips the boot up system an goes straight to the files. Once you access the files, back up the files, reformat the hard drive, and recopy the backed up files. You should then be good to go. Best of luck.

Where can I buy only part of a compaq laptop charger?
Where can I buy only part of a compaq laptop charger?
I was wondering if/where I could but the part of a compaq charger where it plugs into the computer. The battery itself is fine it's just the little adapter part that got bent and doesn't work anymore. Does anyone know here I could just buy that part and how much it will cost?

It's almost impossible to bend the tip of the charger plug that's attached to the power cord. If that does happen, it can be replaced with a generic connector (assuming you can find the identical size). That's not always easy to find. More commonly, the socket in the laptop gets damaged. Replacement parts are available for a short period of time for those, but they often require quite a bit of work to install as modern laptops are built for low cost, not ease of repair.

I would agree, finding the connector tips and replacing them (which would also include you repairing it) is near to impossible since they don't sell those separately. Your only solution is to get a new charger. I would highly suggest you do so and stop to use the current charger you have because it is very dangerous. You risk causing a fire, or worse, frying your motherboard. If you need a new charger, you can go online on sites like ebay or amazon but I would personally suggest you visit Topmic instead. Topmic is well known for their great services and their durable products. They include free shipping and free lifetime warranty. Yes, lifetime. This means if the charger ever stops working on its own for whatever reason, they would replace it as many times as needed at no additional cost, for life. Compaq Evon1000c laptop
COMPAQ EVon1000c laptop. Need to know how to remove message former owner put on splash screen when it comes on?
Got a used laptop that the former owner put a message on the same splash screen that says compaq in red ,as it boots up before windows. How do I go in and remove this? it is typed in a small font across the screen on one line above the compaq. any help I would appreciate in step by step mode... Thanks!

hi! while starting your PC press F2 and DEL keys simultaneously so that you are in CM-OS setup. search for logo and there will be a option to disable or enable the logo. so disable it save and exit the setup. this will disable the logo as well as the massage that is written by that past user take care and god bless
