How do I hook up my Roland speakers to my Compaq laptop computer?
I need to know how to hook my Roland Stereo Micro Monitor MA-8 speakers up to my Compaq Presario Laptop. Is this even possible?

Your computer should have a headphone-out jack (3.5mm plug). Most computer speakers have a connection that supports the 3.5mm size. I'd check for this first (I don't know much about those particular speakers, I'm just giving generic information).

You will have to connect your computer's audio to a receiver that supports the speakers. S/PDIF would be the best way to line out to the receiver from the laptop, if it's supported. The headphone jack also doubles as the line out, I would imagine, so an 8th inch stereo plug to RCA (red white) cable is the next best bet. You won't be able to connect the speakers directly as the jack most likely does not have enough power to support them.
