i have a compaq laptop and i know hp took them over but why is my laptop with a compaq name on it exactly the?
the same as the hp laptop witch is exatcly identical to the compaq. whats the point of having 2 of the same design computers and selling them with different names on them.

I'll venture a guess../ Companies such as Hewlett Packard and ComPaq or DELL..use OS's that are controlled by them(Product KEYS).. Its just easy for HP to use 2-sections on Product Keys.
