Can a Compaq Presario CQ40 laptop's graphic card be upgraded?
Don't say it can't right away. I've read somewhere that compaq laptops have dedicated video card which means the opposite of integrated right

integrated is on-board which means it cant be upgraded dedicated is a expansion card (graphics card) which can be upgraded. EDIT* what dose your laptop have? most would have integrated. but the more expensive gaming laptops would have dedicated.

I looked on the HP parts store web site, and didn't see any mention of a choice of graphics adapters available.
