I have a compaq laptop cq60 and comcast broadband does anyone know how to set it up to the internet?
when I plug the ethernet cord into my laptop it still says i can't connect to the internet, yet i can connect on my regular computer. Any suggestions that don't include calling the cable company?

You have to set up the connection. Go to Network Connections and Create a New Connection. It is a Broadband connection that requires Username and Password. Comcast will have told you what these are.
